چکیده
Mitigating power loss and voltage profile problems on radial distribution networks has been a major challenge to system operators. While deployment of distributed generation, as compensators, made suitable solution option, optimum placement sizing the compensators concern it thus receiving great attention. Meta-heuristic algorithms have found efficacious in this respect, yet use addressing feeders is still comparatively low Nigeria where analytical numerical programming methods are common. Hence; genetic algorithm site size generator for real-time reduction improvement Nigerian secondary presented. Backward-forward sweep load flow analysis, together with sensitivity factor, deployed identify buses installation while employed estimating size. This approach tested standard IEEE 15-bus validated using 11 kV feeder. The result obtained test shows 183 kW compensator, compared 436 without compensator; network compensator was 4.99 kW, comparison no-compensation 10.47kW. By study, real feeder decreased by 52.3% energy cost from N658,789.12 N314,227.38. Likewise minimum bus magnitude stability index improved acceptable limits. therefore recommended capable strengthening performance system.
